She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain.
Louisa May Alcott

I'm officially a dork (if you ever doubted it before) because I literally skipping out of the library yesterday with The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb in my hands.

When asked the question, who is your favorite author?

The answer: Wally Lamb

What about your favorite book?

The answer: I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb.

He has only written three fiction books, the two above, and She's Come Undone (also wonderful!) so when this new one came out in late 2008 I was so excited. Being an a budget, I just couldn't bring myself to buy the big hardcover book. So I placed my name on the hold list (nearly 3 months long at the time) at my local library. I missed the book three times when it became available because I didn't get there fast enough.

Finally, yesterday afternoon the "your book is now available" popped up in my e-mail and I went to pick it up immediately.

I cannot wait to devour another Wally Lamb book!

It just goes to show you how important it is to read, read, read to your children. It will make them readers for life!

I Know This Much is True is my all time favorite book too! I have his new book- but haven't had the time to dive in. Maybe I will this weekend and we can discuss.

Enjoy!

"I know this much is true" is one of my favorite books, its in my top two favorites of all time. I also really enjoyed "She's Come Undone"..... I bought Wally Lambs new book in November when it came out....this one is different, not bad, but i am also interested to hear your thoughts on his new one. You will have to do a follow up when you finish.

Oh, I love Wally Lamb, too and have read his other two books. Must put this on my list. I remember reading I Know This Much is True at the beach several years ago (pre-kids) and just could not put it down.

I'm the same way! When a book I've placed on hold arrives at my library, I get SO excited! The best part about working at a library is that I don't need to drive anywhere. The book will just appear on my desk! Its a perk! That and no late fees!

I've wanted to read She's Come Undone, and have never gotten around to it. I think I'll have to check it out.
