He is his own best friend, and takes delight in privacy whereas the man of no virtue or ability is his own worst enemy and is afraid of solitude.
Aristotle

Nick headed to his parent's home in Iowa for a few days solo (thanks to our schedule never being the same!). I was happy for him though because he spent the whole time snowmobiling with his dad. The man deserves a break for some fun!

I, on the other hand, enjoyed two nights of singledom.

First, when I got home from work I made a batch of homemade pesto (Nick hates pesto). I enjoyed it for dinner on the couch watching DVR'd Oprah.

Delightful.

Then I pulled out one of my birthday money purchases and started organizing.

I purchased a big, sturdy scrapbooking supply case to rescue all of my great supplies from being squished into moving boxes in the basement. It looks great and it is so nice to have it all arranged, including my upcoming projects. Can't wait to catch up and then continue with my albums that I love so much.

Scrapbooking mess.

Glorious savior.

Compartments on the side

Paper and more supplies in the middle.

More removable pouches.

The night was topped off with He's Just Not That Into You on HBO.

Last night I worked on a bunch of Junior League stuff, so it wasn't as eventful. Although I really enjoyed my quiet, neat home these evenings I miss my Nick. I always say that he makes my life fun. Sure, my throw pillows were organized just right on the couch but the house was a little sad. And kind of boring (although it was nice not to have to watch sports!). Bella just howled in the hallway, "What did you do with him?! Where is he?!"

So, my single nights were fun (and delicious) but I am looking forward to a big hug tonight from my guy.

What an awesome scrapbook organizer!! Very cool!

This week, Dan is working late every night. While I wish he was at home right when I get home, it certainly is nice to put the baby to bed and curl up on the couch and watch whatever I want with no interruption!

I feel the same way when my boys spend the night at grandma's - the house stays clean but it's way too quiet!

Great organizer!

The pesto looks great. It's nice to get some solo time sometimes but so nice to have them back!

I love the organizer! I'm new to your blog, so I don't know if you said before, but where did you find it? My best friend is very into scrapbooking and that would be a great gift for her.

I also take advantage of the evenings my husband isn't home to eat all the yummy food he doesn't like. :)
