These are times in which a genius would wish to live. It is not in the still calm of life, or the repose of a pacific station, that great characters are formed.
Abigail Adams

Nick and I have a Netflix membership that we really use frequently. We have watched a lot of movies over the last few months but sort of hit a wall - what shall we get next?

I've always heard such wonderful things about the John Adams miniseries done by HBO so we added the discs to our queue and gave it a try. Well, I cannot tell you just how wonderful it is it.

I've had a love of history my whole life. Many a nights spent with my father, especially while he was ill, watching the History Channel. From World War II back to America's beginning and even more recent modern time events, I've really always loved it all.

John Adams so eloquently portrays not only the history of the events surrounding the beginning of our country but also the pure human emotion behind them. Often in history you hear about all of these people but forget that really were just that, people. With wives, families, frustrations, worries and love.

Whether you have Netflix or can pick up John Adams at your local rental store, please do me the favor of taking the time to experience it.

I also watched it while it was airing on HBO, and also LOVED it! Hubs and I went to Philadelphia 2 years ago and it totally sparked my interest in the Revolutionary War and I kinda became obsessed with it. I really enjoyed learning about that amazing time in our history.

We adored this miniseries. Although I was already a huge fan of Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti, this really sealed the deal.

Matt and I do Blockbuster...but given our AWESOME schedule conflicts lately, our DVDs are collecting dust. So our list is at a stand still! There are a TON of movies that I want to see soon though! I'll make sure to add that to ours. Thank you!
